Video without sound

Our communications department would like a video prominently displayed on
home page (and other pages) of our site. The video has no sound.

Looking for suggestions of how to indicate there is no sound that all
users, but especially those with hearing issues, will understand. Right
now we have a small speaker with an x next to it, but I fear that users
will find that confusing. In addition, am not sure an icon is enough.

- Would an icon, maybe with a tooltip be sufficient?
- Are there icons out there that would be appropriate?
- Do we need captions if there is no sound?

Appreciate any suggestions you might have.
