id attributes for PDF tables -- case sensitive?

Several people on my team worked on several complex tables that are going
to be combined into one document. They were told to use a certain method to
make sure id attributes would not be duplicated once the tables were in one
file. One person didn't follow the request, but fixed it by using
capitalization on one table and no capitalization on another table id
attribute.

Before I send these back to be fixed, does anyone know if something like
"HELLO" is the same as "hello" when it comes to PDF id attributes?
