Hi Mary,
We never did come up with an ideal solution, especially when there's
more than one blank per question. We don't have control over the
question text, so couldn't re-author the questions to provide
understandable labels.
All of our labels just say "Fill in the blank", which is less than
ideal but the best we could do given the limited control we've got.
Once the aria-roledescription property is better supported, we may use
it to let users know that they may need to read the text before and
after the edit field to put it in context.
