That line should not show up in the browser even in Netscape if you save the
file with a .asp extension. It is there for a reason, to tell the server
what language the asp is written in so that it will be processed properly. I
should not affect the javascript at all.

Since you are using asp why not use an asp server side switcher instead of
javascript?
