Re: Chrome v Microsoft Edge?

I use JAWS as my main screen reader with Chrome as my default browser.

When I'm testing sites, however, I'll test a matrix of JAWS, NVDA, and Narrator with Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. It helps determine if a failure in WCAG criteria is assistive technology or browser based. Then throw Safari with Voiceover on IOS or OSX - Android and whatever screen reader you prefer with all of the above combinations of browsers... woowee it gets complex.

Have fun, it's like a big parametric equation testing websites!

But to answer your question after that ramble: I prefer Chrome because it is more mature.

David

If you are using Narrator you would want to use Edge as Narrator does not support grouping or table header announcement in Chrome as it does in Edge. Narrator also has some issues with the UI of chrome such as the address bar. This is odd of course because they both use Chromium.

Hi All-

For accessibility testing, do any of you have a preference between Chrome and Microsoft Edge? Which browser do you feel is better?

Thanks
