Not sure if I've understood - I found the errors announced when I focused each field after a failed submit - and the "the form contains errors" summary. The error isn't dynamically announced as a live region which I think you implied but it is there albeit not directly in the legend



Eg Pets weight combobox <field contents>(required)<error message>

Similar for the radio button - legend followed by error mesage
