Hi Peter,

Google's TalkBack responds to Voice Commands. https://support.google.com/accessibility/android/answer/10449331?hl=en

I don't think I have ever heard of another Screen Reader that is widely used on Android (with exceptions for custom versions of Android like Samsung and Amazon on their custom Android OSes)

Thankx,

Subject: [WebAIM] Voice Operated Android Screen Reader, Blind Help Needed

We are interested in building a screenreader app for Android smartphones that would be operated by voice commands. We have the programming resources, but we need a better understanding of the market before launching the effort.

Anyone who knows of such an effort, past or present, we would like to hear from you.

Next, we would like to retain a blind consultant on a task basis to help us understand some usability issues. Ideal would be a blind smartphone user who supports other blind users with training and consulting regarding such assistive technology.

Cheers,
