Here's some additional data that informs this wonderful question…
Primary screen reader reported by respondents that indicate Mac as their primary OS when using their primary screen reader:
* VoiceOver â 91%
* Other â 3.5%
* SuperNova â 2.8%
* ChromeVox â 2.1%
* JAWS - .7%
Primary screen reader reported by respondents that indicate Windows as their primary OS when using their primary screen reader:
* JAWS â 47.0%
* NVDA â 43.4%
* SuperNova â 3.8%
* ZoomText â 3.1%
* Narrator - .8%
* VoiceOver - .3%
* Others â 1.7%
For Mac, the responses other than the 93.8% that reported using VoiceOver or ChromeVox (the only 2 viable options on macOS) could perhaps be explained by user error/misunderstanding of the questions, such as someone using macOS as their primary OS, but using Windows for screen reader usage. Or maybe them using Parallels, Bootcamp, or similar to use a Windows screen reader within macOS or on Apple hardware.
The lower percentages represent few respondents. These anomalies are within a reasonable margin of error.
Thanks,
Jared
