Hi everyone.
on the Freedom Scientific math demo page (
https://support.freedomscientific.com/content/html/jawshq/MathML-Samples.html),
all versions of JAWS that I tested announced the math perfectly, but the
text output is just the letter X, no matter what the math is. I submitted
a ticket to Freedom Scientific, but haven't heard back. Does anyone have a
solution for this? As far as I can tell, there's no JAWS setting for math
or mathml, but I could have missed it. The issue is present regardless of
whether the page uses MathJax and whichever MathJax version is used. I
even downloaded JAWS 2025 for a fresh download and experienced the same
issue.
The Freedom Scientific math demo page again for easy reference:

The Freedom Scientific page with math and mathjax to see whether the issue
persists with MathJax: https://www.freedomscientific.com/SurfsUp/MathML.htm
Thanks,
Mike
