My thought is that having print friendly pages is a good thing and ensuring
that they are accessible is a good thing.

I don't know. I can say, as someone that doesn't happen to need any AT that
I find print friendly pages very useful. Not only for printing, but reading
online.

The print dialogue box? That's not a good thing. For a few reasons: 1) not
all browsers can support this and 2) it's silly...every web browser already
has a very usable PRINT function (as does most desktop software, for that
matter).
