Screen reader for accounting software

I know we usually discuss technical issues on this list, but I am trying
to locate a screen reader that would be user friendly to accounting
software. The software programs that are included would be Quicken, excel,
and a Unix based system on campus. The user is developing diabetic
retinopathy, so she has spotty vision and the black spots are getting
larger. She currently uses enlarged text, but will eventually have to use
other devices.
