This email is to announce the launch of the website of the NCBI Centre
for Inclusive Technology (CFIT, pronounced see fit): www.cfit.ie.
Apologies if you have received more than one copy from different
sources.
CFIT has been established by the National Council for the Blind of
Ireland to help work towards an Information Society that is accessible
to all. One in which products and services that use Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) are designed to be usable by the widest
audience, including older people and people with disabilities.
The CFIT website contains a wide range of information on ICT
accessibility for service providers, developers and technology users in
Ireland and elsewhere. For example, you will currently find information
like the following:
* How people with disabilities use technologies and the problems they
face.
* Advice for consumers on choosing accessible products.
* Quick and easy steps to improve the accessibility of your website.
* Big River - is it an accessible replacement for PDF?
We invite you to take a look and let us know what you think.
Best regards on behalf of the CFIT team,
Dr. Mark Magennis
Director of the Centre for Inclusive Technology (CFIT)
