Here is one contrast and text size widget that does not rely on icons. This
interface would not work for all sites but it does show how the tools can be
presented for a specialized audience (seniors, in this case):

It certainly would be nice to have access to their voice routines. I
wonder if one could get that via Freedom of Information Act?

Lisa,
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you reference NIHseniorhealth. I
was one of two developers who created it. Tedd - we used a standard
speech engine... SAPI, etc. to do on the fly (eventually went with
stored audio clips pulled on demand due to server load) text
transcription. If you dig around in the archives... You'll find a lot of
routines and approaches listed. Most of the manufacturers have slowly
pulled in all the stuff that used to be available for free.
