It isn't possible to add alternate text to images in Word for Mac 2004. Has
this problem been corrected in Word for Mac 2008?

Thanks,
Terry

I can't find a way to do this but I did find the ability to add captions.

I am new to Office for Mac and since it doesn't work with VoiceOver it is
slow going for me/have some vision and impossible to use if you need screen
reader support.

Cheers, Karen

If the program is similar to Windows versions then the alternative text
dialog is located with the image size dialog. The alternative text may
only be revealed to screen readers if the document is converted to html
or pdf although we have seen some (unreliable) support with JAWS 9 and
Office 2007 programs running on an XP platform.
