Hello.. .Are you available for a new project in the Chicago loop area??
This will be contract-to-hire! Must be Citizen or GC holder!!

Title: Senior ADA Tester

Need a testing resource who knows ADA software functionality (visually
impaired). They are looking to backfill someone who is currently
testing that and who has had to go on disability leave.

1. Testing of Wires Application

2. Support on ADA compliance testing

3. About to begin Purge job testing

They would be picking up testing of a JAWS interface that is ADA
compliant with their new on line banking implementation.

Skills A:

- Experience with assessing and testing applications' ability to meet W3
Standards for Accessibility with a focus on priority 1 and 2 adherence

- Understanding of common industry standards and typical site
work-arounds for the visually impaired

- Expert knowledge and experience Jaws and Dragon Naturally speaking
products

- Great to Have: Understanding of HTML and other site coding
work-arounds to meet Accessibility needs

Please advise

Dan

Hi Dan,

At the risk of coming off as a jerk (I have that effect sometimes) what
exactly is a JAWS interface? Does this mean that the application will not
work with WindowEyes, NVDA, Voice Over, Hal/Dolphin or any other screen
reader? There is a problematic issue with testing and developing for a
specific device/software, as any organization that previously leveraged
ActiveX and IE6 has painfully been made aware of over the years.

If it was a simple matter of poor choice of words, then I urge you to be a
little more aware, as communication and advocacy is a huge part of this
business. However, if it truly is an interface that is being optimized for
one tool, I would suggest that you are walking down a treacherous path and
might want to think long and hard about it.

FWIW - and good luck in your search (sadly I do not know anyone in the
Chicago area that might be a candidate...)
