Subject: any java accessibility bridge experts out there?
No previous message | Next message →
Hi. I could really use some help right about now. For a reason I cannot
understand, my JAB keeps failing to work. This means I can't interact with
the "warning security" dialog presented by Java web start, which means I'm
stopped cold when I'm dealing with a java-based application.
Please, please, if there's someone who understands Java Access Bridge, could
you help me stop this from happening? I haven't had to install new Java, so
I can't figure out what is JAB's problem. I have tried reinstalling JAB to
no avail, and every time I have to reinstall JAB it takes about a half an
hour, and this program is a meeting-based software...so if I discover there
is a problem and it's too close to the meeting, I miss out on using the
software and have to stay on the phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can check that the following (3) files are in your c:Windows/System32
folder:
JavaAccessBridge.dll
JAWTAccessBridge.dll
WindowsAccessBridge.dll
In the folder C:Program FilesJavajre1.6.0_05lib (or other JRE folder)
do you have the following:
accessibility.properties
In the folder: C:Program FilesJavajre1.6.0_05libext you should have:
access-bridge.jar
jaccess-examples.jar
It may not hurt to place the following files in the ext folder:
jaccess-1_2.jar
jaccess-1_3.jar
jaccess-1_4.jar
All of the files above are packaged with the JAVA access bridge. Also make
sure you have the axbridge.dll file in the bin folder. This file should be
there by default.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the bridge, and it's working again...but it
takes a friggin dog's age to install it, so this email may help speed the
process next time I run into this problem, and know that I haven't updated
Java.
Thanks.
