I apologize for the cross-posting. I am leaving my position at Colorado State University and am assisting with the search for a replacement. The position could be described as part Assistive Technology IT Coordination and part Accessibility/Universal Design consultation and education. This is truly a great job in a great location with a fun and exciting working culture.

The Assistive Technology Resource Center at Colorado State University seeks individuals to apply for the position of Assistive Technology/Information Technology Support Specialist. This is a full time (40 hours/week) administrative professional position in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Have you posted this to the DSSHE (Disability Student Services in
Higher Education) mailing list?
Just Google DSSHE and you should find the mailing list info at the top.
There's quite a few people subscribed, so it may be a good avenue to
get new candidates.

Assistive Technology/Information Technology

The Assistive Technology Resource Center at Colorado State University seeks individuals to apply for the position of Assistive Technology/Information Technology Support Specialist. This is a full time (40 hours/week) administrative professional special appointment position.

The Assistive Technology Resource Center seeks to ensure equal access to technology and electronic information for Colorado State University students and employees with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Required Qualifications:
. Bachelors Degree in a field related to computer science, computer information systems, rehabilitation technology, human-computer interaction, or human factors
. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
. Demonstrated effective collaborative skills
. Experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of various technologies
. An interest in seeking technology solutions for people with disabilities

Preferred Qualifications:
. Masters Degree in a field related to computer science, computer information systems, rehabilitation technology, human-computer interaction, or human factors
. Experience with management, configuration, and troubleshooting of assistive technologies
. Experience working with a variety of assistive technologies at a technical level
. In-depth understanding of electronic and information technology (E&IT) accessibility and its convergence with assistive technologies
. Experience with alternative media production, (conversion of text books to electronic books)
. Experience conducting training sessions and speaking at conferences
. Familiarity with features and applications of commonly used assistive technology
. Experience and comfort working with people with disabilities

Responsibilities:
. Assistive Technology Related Services
o Management of client and network based assistive technology hardware and software
o Interfacing with various IT coordinators in a decentralized technology model
o Research emerging mainstream and assistive technologies for people with disabilities
. Access Consultation
o Application of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 requirements in system wide electronic and information technology (courseware, instructional technologies, databases, etc.)
o Application of Section 508 and other legal requirements in university contracts/procurement
o Best practices for creating and managing alternate formats for text books and course materials

Thanks! I will look into that. I am also having trouble with the position announcement attachment. Something with the list admin strips it off. I just found out too that the hyperlink isn't static so that has nothing to do with the job I'm posting!
