I’ve read the WebAim article on making Word docs accessible (http://webaim.org/techniques/word/) and am aware of the accessibility checker for Word 2010. Unfortunately, within our large corporation we will be stuck with 2007 for a couple of more years before we upgrade. On that note, is there such a thing as an add-on that will automatically help check Word 2007 docs for accessibility issues? It is our mandate to “teach” all users in our corporation proper techniques in creating accessible documents, but as we all know, the sad reality is that not everyone will follow through with using those techniques.

None that I am aware of.

Feel free to use any or all of these resources that I recently developed:

Hi Logan,

You may want to look at CommonLook Office, which is a rebranded
version of NetCentric PAW. This is a Word to PDF converter which does
checking. A number of people in my organization use it for checking,
then pass it to me for final check->conversion->clearance/approval.
Depending on how many copies you are talking about, it may come down
to how many resources you have.

The other option is to produce a training on it and promote the life out of it.
