We are creating a site with very complex set of data. On some of the
pages, the user will be able to filter the results which will replace
the existing set and display above the submit button.
The screen reader does read the updated set of resultsm as I tabbed up
to the start and the screen reader did read the filtered results to
me. However, the screen reader user might not be able to find it as
I have done nothing to refocus the results.
Is there any WAI-Aria to help with this or other actions I can take?

If your results appear immediately following a heading, or within a
list, you should not need to do anything else. the user would be able
to move to the list or heading for the results. If the submit button
appeared above the results, then reading sequentially would get you
there.
