Good morning everyone,

I thought I'd invite you to join us on Twitter next Monday, April 15th, from 5-6pm EST for our next a11yChat.

Our topic this month will be “Violation or Best Practice?”, where we will discuss the many accessibility guidelines whose interpretation can sometimes be ambiguous: accessibility issues that are often perceived as actual violations, while they may in fact only be best practice (and vice versa).

The Deque team (Glenda Sims, Paul Adam, Paul Bohman and myself) is ready with guidelines we have wrangled with, and we’re interested in your opinion. Join the debate and help us shed a little light on some cloudy issues, like skip links, keyboard navigation, headings out of sequence, use of aria, etc.

To participate, you simply need to be on Twitter at 5pm EST next Monday, and follow the discussion going on using the #a11yChat hashtag. If you’re new to tweetchats in general, visit our #a11ychat How-to Guide at http://www.deque.com/a11ychat-guide.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Best,

/Denis

Dennis is that EST (standard time) or EDT (daylight savings)? Or should it
just be ET...?

Sorry for the hair splitting, but this is clearly a "worldwide" listserv ;-)

I'm planning to "tune in!"

Hi John,

Great question. I realize I'm not all that familiar with the difference between EST or EDT and ET, so I had to look that up. :)

Considering we're currently on EDT, this is what my message should have said. So next Monday, 5pm EDT.

Thanks!

/Denis
