As part of an ongoing effort to bring our site into step with regards
accessibility, we have got to a section in our site that deals with results
and accounts. The data tables here are enough to make you scream. Here is an
example:
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/Annual_Report_2002/princ_statement.htm
I have enough difficulty looking at it with my unecumbered vision. However,
getting these tables to work in a screen reader could prove VERY difficult.
Is there any tool that anyone knows of whereby we could open the page and
using point-and-click start to define the appropriate headers and so on?
I developed a tool that allows you to build the empty shell of a table that
includes all the necessary accessibility features
(http://www23.brinkster.com/favelets/accessible-table-builder-intro.htm) but
this is only any good at the outset. Is there anyway of fixing existing
tables in a similar way?
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
