Im sure Ive missed something simple, but its Friday afternoon, my brain is fried and I cant figure it out. Hopefully someone will feel kind and correct my wayward habit! LOL
I created a document in Word 2007, filling in a title within the Properties. The document was then converted to a PDF (using Acrobat 11) and when I view properties on the PDF, the same title I entered in Word appears in the Title field for the PDF. YET, when I run the full accessibility check in Acrobat 11 I get a FAILURE on Document Title.
Any thoughts? I have a feeling this may have been discussed previously.

We've noticed this and logged a bug for the product team. I'm not sure what causes it but it is a problem. We're getting it in the queue to be fixed.

Andrew,
All that needs to be done is for the engineering team to set the default
setting to Show: Title rather than Show: File Name (Doc Properties | Initial
View).
That way whatever is in the Title field of the metadata will be picked up
and the file will pass accessibility checkers.
I logged a bug and feature request for this a couple of times but it's never
gone through. Hopefully you can make some headway!
Logan,
You did your work correctly. For now, until this is adjusted by Adobe, just
change the setting manually: Doc Properties | Initial View | Show: Title
Then run your accessibility checker.

Thanks Bevi
I've been speaking with Andrew offline. Our problem is that thousands of documents are being converted automatically from Word and will not be touched after conversion.

Bevi,
That's not entirely accurate. In the "make accessible" action if you click the "set open options" button it changes the setting to show the document title in the title bar, as you say. You can also make the change in the way you describe. However, even after doing this, the Document title isn't appearing in the "add document description" dialog that is opened within the make accessible action.
I regard this as a very bad bug because it not only isn't working right, it can make a well-intentioned person (re)do extra work inadvertently.
Thanks,
AWK
