Darn, beat me to it. That said, the datatables examples (standard,
Expand/Collapsable Rows, Editable Rows and Filter Search) presented at
http://assets.cms.gov are all fully accessible, with any limitations
noted on the demo pages.

That said, glad you like our efforts with Datatables, - I'm one of the
developers of the assets.cms.gov site. We've made an effort to ensure
that all the available widgets (which are FOSS - MIT Lisc.) are fully
accessible. If you find anything that could be improved in terms of
accessibility please let us know.

For PowerPoint, if an image is added in an individual slide using the
'format background' option, does this create an artifact, or are these
images also disregarded by screen readers?

Hi Melissa,

I think that is what I did, and it created the problem. It had to be alted,
and when I did that took over from the important image's alt. I don't have
a screen reader on my Mac, but could tell it would cause problems. I redid
the template from scratch and all went smoothly after that time.

You said "I don't have a screen reader on my Mac" ... if you have a relatively recent version of the OS, then VoiceOver is built in. I think the command to bring it up is Command-F5. It is built in.

Hi Dave,

It is an older OS, but I will check. I didn't see it when I was poking
around my settings and programs. I am also going to update my OS soon
anyway, so it should have it built in.
