Does anyone have any experience with webboard chat, at
http://www.webboard.com ?
If so, what do you think? Any problems with accessibility (or anything
else)?
Thanks,
Carol

I do not have experience with WebBoard, but I did take a look at the site with
my screen reader. I'm using Jaws for Windows 4.5.
My initial reaction is that it is not accessible. This is based on two
observations:
First the site is slow or cumbersome to navigate with a screen reader. I
wanted WebBoard, but I had to listen to several list of links before finding
the selection that I wanted to try. There needs to be appropriate skip
navigation links or accesskeys, and maybe rearrangement of the page to allow
significant items to be quickly located.
Second, the first time I clicked on "WebBoard Tour" it only displayed a line
saying "WebBoard Tour" and everything else was blank. The screen reader could
not detect anything on the page. I noticed that the tour required Macromedia
Flash 5. Macromedia Flash 5 is not very accessible for screen readers. Six
does a much better job, if the Flash is designed by someone skilled in
accessibility.
So, to answer your real question, is WebBoard accessible the answer is No not
in its current state.
