Can anyone recommend an e-learning platform that makes it possible to
produce accessible e-learning courses?

Hi Sophie,
I think that question is actually at least two questions:
* how accessible is the platform to learners and instructors with disabilities? (which might be measured by WCAG conformance)
* how well does the platform support instructors in creating accessible learning experiences? (which might be measured by ATAG conformance)
This LMS accessibility comparison study is a few years old now, so there will likely have been improvements made since then to the systems that were reviewed. But I think it's very useful as an independent comparison of 4 LMSs: Blackboard, Desire2Learn, SAKAI and Moodle:

LMS vendors will provide lots of accessibility information about their own products, too, which allows you to make independent comparison. But I'd also be interested to learn whether there is an LMS system that WebAIM list members find in practice performs particularly well from an accessibility perspective.

Blackboard is really difficult to use, although it is usable. Etudes is my
favorite by far.

Id say it's actually 3, if not 4, questions the 3rd being whether the tutors have any ideas how to produce accessible materials and 4th does the institute both require and support them to do so.
A bunch of accessible pdf scans is still inaccessible

Hi Kevin
Good pointâlearning management system accessibility needs supporting policies and programs to ensure that the people who use it 1) know how to use it in an accessible manner, and 2) are required to do so.
But things like accessibility policies and training programmes are really properties of the organisation using the system, rather than the system itself.
