Folks,

I was talking to a client that provides standardized testing for people with
disabilities. I was told that some students asked for Braille Rulers on
their tests. The test is done through the browser and sighted users have
rules, scientific calculators and a bunch of other tools.

So has anyone heard of a Braille Ruler that a blind person can use through a
Braille Display? I have never used a Braille Display to navigate the web.
However, I know that a tangible Braille Ruler exist. Yet, I have never heard
of an intangible Braille Ruler.

Any light you can shed on this would highly be appreciated.

What the heck are they expected to measure? The size of anything on a screen is going to vary based on a ton of factors. If they are expected to measure something physical and then enter the measurements on the computer there are tactile rulers.

Thank you folks.

Mike,

Your response was the same I had when the lady asked me the question. That's so funny.

She googled the web for days trying to find something related to such rulers to no avail. I thought I'd run it by you folks to ensure I am not missing out on any new technology, but I knew it was a vision of a teenager. LOL

I don't think so Patrick, but it is definitely worth checking. Thank you for sharing.
