Hi All,

I am testing one of the financial apps.
I am having the following issues with Voiceover on iPhone:
Issue 1:
In the following scenario date is read wrong: When a user selects
custom date or last 3 months in the app, the date will be displayed
next to the selection in the following format '03/04/2017 -
05/04/2017-
Note: There is a space before and after the 'hyphen'
Voice over reads as:
05 slash 04 / 2017 to 2005 04 2017.
The same format is read correctly on IE11 with JAWS, NVDA 2017.2 with
Firefox and Talkback on android apk.
Issue 2:
The account number is masked and hyphenated. When the masked account
number starts with -x1234, Voiceover reads 'Negative'
There is a high chance for the user to think that it is a negative account.
Please suggest what is the best way for:
1. Appropriate announcement of date by VoiceOver.
2. Preventing VoiceOver considering hyphen as minus.
3. Notifying the users regarding negative accounts in all the platforms.

Thanks & Regards,
Mohith B. P.

VoiceOver on iOS is one of the few screen readers that support some of the Aural CSS properties that can be used to spell out numbers, etc. https://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/aural.html

I have a blog post that touches on this.
