Our agency is putting together a plan to train staff in all areas of accessible document creation. One item that has been asked for is a checklist that document authors can refer to and follow. I see plenty of old ones online (Section 508 checklists). Does anyone know if there are any new checklists out there that reflect the Section 508 refresh? I am unable to find any.
Thank you

Angela,
I haven't seen anything new from the US federal government yet, but I recommend the Canadian Accessible Digital Office Document (ADOD) Project. Their advice is based on WCAG2 and ATAG1. They have guidance for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Win and Mac), Google docs, OpenOffice, iWorks, Corel, and PDF documents.
I haven't done an in-depth comparison, but I think you'll find that there is very little different from the existing document guidance offered for Section 508 compliance.
The ADOD project has been developed by the Inclusive Design Research Centre, OCAD University as part of an EnAbling Change Partnership project with the Government of Ontario and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). It can be found at http://adod.idrc.ocad.ca/
