Hello,
Acrobat Pro, when running full accessibility checking scan, it is telling me that my Title is failed. I assume this means it thinks there is no title property. But there is indeed a Title property. Is this a known bug or am I misunderstanding the result?

The error is not that the file lacks a title, but that the file is not
set to display that title by default in the title bar.
If you use Acrobat Pro DC, you can simply right-click the error and
select "Fix" and it will change the setting for you.
If you are using Acrobat Pro 11 and lower, then you can change the
setting in the Document Properties -> Initial View -> Window Options ->
Show: Title

Likely not a bug. Check to see that the title is chosen when you go to Properties then Initial View and choose Title and not File Name, Save and do the check.
You can also right click the error and pro will fix it for you.

Do you know if there is any way to configure one's version of Acrobat to keep this as the default? Wouldn't the Document Title be the preferred option since if it is not selected the accessibility checker will fail it? This makes no sense to me.

FYI, recent versions of Adobe InDesign let the graphic designer set the Title in the PDF conversion settings, as well as language and other PDF settings.
I think these automated settings must be set in the conversion settings from within the source program when exporting the PDF.
It would be very handy if we could set them in the Acrobat ribbon tab within Word.
Why not submit this as a feature request with Adobe? If you don't ask for the tool, they can't build it. http://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html
Ask for it to be an optional setting in the Acrobat PDF conversion settings in the PDF Maker plug-in for MS Word.
