Subject: Test user : how to record remotely an iphone with VoiceOver?
No previous message | Next message →

Hello,

I'd like to test a mobile app with a VoiceOver user who is located remotely.
I need to be able to record the test, which means to record :

* The iphone screen
* The voice of the user
* VoiceOver

I'm looking to softwares to do it.

I tried to use ZOOM, but it does not seem to allow to record VoiceOver
(as VoiceOver can't be heard remotely).

Has anyone advice on how I could do it?

Thanks
Sylvie

Is it possible to have the person call into zoom with a different phone (on speaker) as well as use their iPhone for the screen sharing? With the phone on speaker, you'd capture their voice and VO and with their iPhone you can still capture/view their screen.

Hi Dan,

It will be hard as it means that the user should do twice the same think
in the same time to be able to synchronise the voice and the screen, no ?

Hi,
I'm unsure what you are trying to accomplish, but I wonder if you can't just do low-tech and use Zoom with a computer, put the user in front of a camera and a microphone, and record that way.

Try this in Zoom. When sharing screen, tick the "Share computer sound" option at the bottom left.

Hi Jim,

I want to record the journey of a voice over user (test users).
But those user may be far from where we are and we are looking for a
solution to do it remotely.

For now, we are recording the screen and voice of the user via Zoom, but
for voiceover, we record it separately and we have to mix it afterwards.
We can't ask the users to organise this seperate recording as it will be
too complicated for them (they may not be too internet litterate).

Here is an example of what we want to record
<https://www.dropbox.com/s/ybqjbclhm2hug5m/Enregistrement%20d%C3%A9mo%20tests%20utilisateurs%20iPhone.mp4?dl=0>
(but we'd like to simplify our process).
