Subject: Query on the WCAG 2.1 text spacing checkpoint

Hi all,
I have a query on the WCAG 2.1 text spacing. When we apply steve falkner
text spacing bookmarklet then most of our site works fine with proper
spacing created except placeholder texts. the spacing does not get created
for the placeholder text when text spacing bookmarklet is applied. An
interesting thing is that placeholder text does not overlap/cut-off/hide
when text spacing bookmarklet is applied and placeholder text is clearly
visible but it just does not create spacing visually. Is it still a failure
of text spacing checkpoint? or is this a limitation of the text spacing
bookmarklet itself?
Looking forward for your response

The SC itself does not say that the spacing must kick in/happen (as it
doesn't even define *how* a user would go about changing the
spacing/text metrics), but rather that when spacing is modified, then
content is not lost/cut off/etc.
So technically, this situation is not a failure. However, it's worth
investigating how/why spacing isn't changing, and checking/forcing the
change (e.g. just with developer tools going in and actually changing
the styles). Presumably, the reason for the bookmarklet not kicking in
properly is that you have nested iframes or similar...so you may need to
dive into the iframed document itself and inject some text styles for
spacing, just to see/verify that content indeed survives extra spacing
unscathed.
