Dear Radhika,
Greetings!
It's interesting, to make MMS accessible you need to take care of
certain things. Please follow the below accessibility acceptance criteria:
1. You need to provide a caption synch with visuals.
2. Provide audio descriptions for the visuals playing without speeches(
some actions without speech etc..).
3. Make sure multimedia (player) controls (i.e. Play, Pause, Rewind,
Forward, CC, etc) used should have accessible labeling and they should be
accessible using the keyboard.
4. Try to avoid auto-play audio for MMS, if that is the case make sure you
have provided an arrangement to pay it. And yes, in auto-play mode voice
pitch should not be very high so that a screen reader user won't be able to
use the control as its voice could be suppressed by the voice of MMS.
5. Ensure there should be no flashing elements used.
6. Try to provide a Transcript and make sure this would be according to the
language chosen by the viewer.
7 . If this is in a frame, make sure an accessible Title is given.
8. Make sure there should not be any Keyboard tab while using the player or
MMS.
9. Provide mouse hover for all the controls (i.e. Play, Pause, Rewind,
Forward, CC, etc).
Hope this helps. Keep in touch.
Cheers,
Bob
