Good morning

People I work with need to caption and transcribe internal videos and
the security policy does not allow them to use a vendor or outside
services (like YouTube).
One option would be the Live Transcribe feature in Chrome but the
corporate version has not beeen updated to Chrome 84 yet.
I think there is a desktop application that many people recommend
(that uses Speech Recognition to automate the first draft fairly
accurately), but I have to do some extensive searching to find out
which.

If anyone here has done a lot of this work and has a setup
recommendation, both for the tool to use and an estimate how long it
would take to transcribe a medium complexity video (clear English
speech, with some onscreen text), that would be super valuable.
Again, this would have to be a desktop app, no server/vendor solutions.
Thanks, as always

hello:
I have a few answers to this.

first if they are creating the videos in-house do they have a script if so
the process is so much easier. and faster. I typically take about 30 minuts
to edit captions for a 20 minute video with an existing script. I
recommend cadets from the national media access group at wgbh. it's
accessible and powerful and best of all it's free. Please give me a call
and I can walk you through my processes to describe what to do in what
circumstance. lucy
