Hi everyone,

I remediate with Adobe and test with Adobe. A colleague reported that he
was testing a PDF in Foxit with JAWS and the expansion text was not being
read. I tested it on the latest version of Foxit, and this was indeed the
case. JAWS was reading the expansion text just fine in Adobe Acrobat.
Wondering if anyone else can check this issue out. I already submitted a
bug ticket to Foxit. I wish this company I contract for had not switched
from Adobe to Foxit, but it is what it is.
I may make a forum post on Foxit as well if their tech support is
unresponsive.

Note that this also happens when you have language changes in the midst of a sentence. The Foxit PDF Reader is not as good as the Adobe one. It misses things that are correctly tagged.

I haven't tested this with a multilingual document where the language of a part or section or element is different from the core language of the document, but if it can't render the language change on a <Span> tag, it makes sense that it would not identify any other attribute on a <Span> tag.

Cheers, Karen
