Hi WEBAIM Members,

I have one other question to bring to the table as it were here at WEBAIM.
In the past, I have tried to become active with Fiverr. My goal is/was to
hire the services of a freelancer to aid me with writing and publishing
short works of fiction. The problem has always been being able to use the
NVDA screen reader to locate the link or field where one designates whom
they will be making their payment through. Arrow keys and or tab keys don't
readily identify this field from my experience.

Has anyone here found a way to resolve this issue with Fiverr - or any
others that have challenged you?

Thanks again. I'm glad to have returned to the discussion forum!

Warm Regards,.

It's an awful website for a11y, and the a11y overlay doesn't help even though it has it's own screen reader option. I had to enlist the help of my sighted wife to reply to messages and to book a job.

This morning I downloaded the app onto my iPhone hoping that it would be better. It's not. It has unlabelled buttons and tabs. Still, I'll get my wife to tell me what they are and I'll label them myself, then I think the app will be usable.

Fiverr is now my new favourite example of how not to do a11y!

Cheers

Barry

Hello
Barry and others,

I am thankful for your response describing your experience with Fiverr. I
won't be using it based on two things: your observations and a phrase
within the instructions cited by Google AI opn how to navigate Fiverr and
its payment page with a screen reader, keyboard. It referred basically to
how some links and fields "may be nested" which is my experience from past
efforts.
Actually, this is my second experience within website history where results
did not occur as hoped or expected. If I cannot get a website to cooperate
with me, then I am applying the golden rule in return to it.
Thanks again and all the best to you and yours,

David
