Do you have a sense as to what background color the user might be choosing?
My first guess would be white which means that you have to ensure that the
text is dark. If your styled background is dark, then likely you must use a
light text color to make the text readable. What you don't want is to have
the user disable the background and render the text unreadable. I suggest
that you use styles to both color the background and specify the text color.
That way, if the user disables stylesheets, then they aren't left with
invisible text.
