We are just two weeks away from several exciting sessions on
accessibility at the UPA conference in Phoenix, Arizona
(http://www.upassoc.org/conf2003/index.htm). There are still spaces left
in our all-day tutorial on Tuesday 24 June. Online registration is
available at http://www.upassoc.org/cgi-bin/conf2003/reg/startreg.pl.
Join us for...

Evaluating accessibility:
A premier event is the full-day tutorial on "Evaluating for
Accessibility, Usability Testing in Diverse Situations" Join us to
explore issues and learn about different evaluation methods for
assessing the accessibility of consumer products, software, and Web
sites and applications. See more details at:
http://www.upassoc.org/conf2003/tutorials/t21.htm

Live interactions:
Another opportunity for interaction is a lively panel where people with
disabilities demonstrate their use of assistive technologies (AT) and
answer your questions about accessibility issues in consumer product,
software, and web user interfaces. See
http://www.upassoc.org/conf2003/adv_prog_presentations.htm#wedafternoon

New to accessibility:
If you are just getting started in accessibility, "Another -ability:
Accessibility Primer for Usability Specialists" sets the foundation for
understanding accessibility. Topics covered include clarifying laws,
standards, and guidelines; dispelling myths; and how designing to be
inclusive impacts our web, software, and hardware processes and designs.
(Session description is the seventh under
http://www.upassoc.org/conf2003/adv_prog_presentations.htm#thurs830)

Accessibility managers & researchers:
An Advanced Topic Seminar on Accessibility Management and Research. This
forum provides an opportunity for those with experience to share
experiences and develop new ideas. We hope this session will result in
more direct guidance for accessibility project management as well as
guidance to direct accessibility research in the near future. See
http://www.upassoc.org/conf2003/adv_prog_advtopics.htm

There are also other presentations throughout the week cover
accessibility issues, as well as related usability issues.

Please share this information with others who might be interested.
Thanks for passing on the word about accessibility learning
opportunities.

Best regards,

~Shawn & Mary
