Hi Julian,
Many thanks for these great guides.
I have put links to them on our website at
www.xmlw.ie/aboutaccessibility/resources.htm
where I am collecting resources on PDF accessibility.

If anyone knows of resources on configuring and using Adobe InDesign
to create accessible PDFs, can you let me know?

Hello Laura,
Perhaps you might like to include a link to
tools from Deque Systems that can convert any PDF into XML or
accessible HTML:
Deque-unDoc: converts PDF to XML or HTML

Deque-Ramp Ascend: checks for accessibility
violations and remediates them.

I cannot guarantee that these guides will be available for much longer
because my employer, the Ontario government, may not want this type of
information posted on the web site.

Sandra Clark ( = EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED = ) has offered to host these PDFs on her site
- I suggest that you point your web page to her site rather than "mine".

Thanks for posting those Sandra. However, might it be beneficial to indicate
that the downloads are in zip format?

Boy, this list is hard to read and use. Is WebAIM aware of how many
RFCs and standards its digests violate?

Excellent.

There's nothing to it. You enable eBook tags on PDF export. It
happens automagically.

You can expect high-quality results if you have well-threaded text
and graphics blocks. Not every layout lends itself to that kind of
threading (e.g., some magazine layouts), and I don't know a way to
add alt texts to graphics inside InDesign. In some cases, you'll need
a wee bit of cleanup in Acrobat. In unusual cases, you'll need
superhuman levels of cleanup.
