Hi.
looking for a tutorial for beginners for php and my sql.
for my web admin certificate four course, have to do an assignment, and to
write a form for a simulated user login, and use the username for the user
id and password for the password field.
vallidate the user when they click on the submit, and then have some
feedback about the user if they logged in successfully.
and display the time as well.
and then use my sql to create, edit, and administer data in a database.
using easy php 1.8 to do the php and my sql database.
so that is the backgorund, and new to php and my sql.
now does any one know where i can find a really good excellent beginner
tutorial, that i can download in a zip file, and is in either a html, word,
or text format, no pdf, as a dog to read with jaws.
okay, if anyone has also got links to where i can find these, or even word
format, would be very grateful.
cheers Marvin.

Hi Marvin.
Years ago I got started in PHP and MySQl with a set of quite easy
tutorials from IBM's DeveloperWorks. It seems that they're nowhere to be
found online right now, but I have kept a copy somewhere and they are
zipped HTML. If you want I can mail them to you offlist (it's ca. 1 Mb
for 3 tutorials).

Hi Marvin,
I recommend the Visual Quickstart Guides published by Peachpit Press.
You can download the source files from all the examples is the book,
I found the PHP MySQL one really useful.
You could also try the O'Reilly PHP Cookbook.

To all those who asked for a copy of the tutorials: look into your
mailbox, I've just sent the stuff.
Should anybody else fancy them (or just in case I missed somebody's
message) the files are up there at ftp://ftp.kozina.com until the next
spring cleaning. Look for the file called 3tuts.zip.
