I think just like CSS for graphical renderings it will take time before
developers start supporting the specification. Many W3C specs sit for
years until the technology catches up to the need for them. As speech
becomes more pervasive on the web more developers will become interested in
Aural CSS features. EmacsSpeak is the only technology that I know of that
uses the Aural CSS specification.

Note: The W3C process has changed since the Aural CSS spec was published as
part of W3C CSS specification. All new W3C specs need to show two
independent implementations to become a recommendation.
