Subject: Book Covers - alt="" ?

The page I'm coding is covered in book covers. The content of the page has
text about the books. But the text on the books impossible to read. Do I
suggest to remove them or null the alt by alt="" ? I am stumped on how to
make them accessible even you can't even read the text. Or do I long
descrip them? Any coders input on this?

Think about what the screen reader will "read" when it "looks at" you web
page and how this will come across to the user. Remember, the screen reader
application will say "Image" first and then read your ALT description. The
screen reader application will also say "Link:" and reads the text that is
linked when links appear on the web page. Think semantics.
If it were a web page full of images of random covers of books, then "a
display of book covers (or book jackets)" would be fine. If it is a catalog
page where each image is the book cover but links to a shopping cart to
purchase that book, the ALT might be something like "Book cover: title of
book - activate link to purchase."
