I'm working on a page that is announced by Jaws as "Application Mode On".
I see no role=application, or other reason why it should go into
application mode. It's doc type is HTML.

With application mode on, tabbing does not work and neither does the arrow
key to move thru the content. Jaws basically reads nothing.

Using Jaws 12 and IE 9.

Any advice?

Check if role=dialog is used on any of the parent tags.
