I have a question related to Adobe tagging issues.

Upon closing a PDF and then reopening the file, Adobe has changed
tags. Tags are reordered, lost, or repeated. Sometimes, even entire
pages of tags are lost. Even when the repeated tags are set to
artifact, other tags are lost.

The problem occurs on a computer using Adobe 10, Windows XP, and MS
Office 2007 but not on a computer with Adobe 10, Windows 7, and MS
Office 2010.

Thanks,
H. Glick

Hi Heidi

We've experienced similar issues when we create Adobe forms from scratch (in LiveCycle) in the CS5 suite. We've found that we have to re-tag the document in Pro, regardless of whether or not they were done properly to begin with.

Seems to be a bit of a bug.

The problem with forms is a killer. Acrobat completely destroys the tag
structure when building out the forms.

My experience is very similar to Logan's -- though we are typically not
using LiveCycle, since LiveCycle isn't creating a PDF -- it's some sort of
XML-based proprietary thing, XFA forms, I believe, and hence is
inaccessible in Preview on Mac.

Our only means for fixing is to blow away the tag structure after creating
the forms and then rebuild it by hand: Add tags to document and then
manually fix the tag structure. Very tedious, even with a pro-level tool,
such as CommonLook. I have reported this as a bug on the Adobe Bug report
site. I recommend others having similar problems do the same.

BTW, here is a post on the Adobe forums that gives more detail for the PDF
forms issue I was having: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4629158
