Hi,
Is the Facebook accessibility team still on this list? I've forgotten how to get a hold of them otherwise.
I've been noticing that, when arrowing down the page using JAWS in IE for example, the message that is being read keeps shifting lines in the Virtual Buffer, so that it may or may not actually be the desired message. This is a pain, because it's very difficult to enter a comment when you aren't certain which message you are activating the Comment button on, and focus keeps getting moved around by itself.
This is happening because something, perhaps a rotating ticker higher up the DOM tree, keeps updating and changing the lines that are reflected in the Virtual Buffer. However, I can't find where this updating area is, or how to stop it.
So if you guys are still here, can you shed some light on how to halt this updating?

Just want to make sure I understand the problem correctly. Is this what you
are experiencing?
1/ You are using down arrow key to read the newsfeed with Jaws on IE
2/ Jaws announces a news story but when you arrow down, instead of reading
the elements after the news story like the like, comment buttons, it reads
something else? At this point the virtual buffer and what's on screen is
out of sync -- did I get that right?
3/ Does this start happening when Jaws reads a particular element? Or when
you take a particular action?
4/ Does this happen if you navigate through tabs also?

Not exactly.
This occurs when you have a page, such as the home page after logging in,
where all contacts have their latest messages listed.
Using 'h' and 'shift+h' to navigate down the messages will produce the same
results.
When I do this, then use the arrow keys such as down arrow to find the
Comment button for a particular message found in this manner, I find that I
am no longer in the message that I originally navigated to using the 'h'
hotkey.
There is some frequently updating section of the DOM higher up the tree that
is changing the lines in the Virtual Buffer every few seconds, which is
causing all content below that point to jitter up and down when trying to
navigate using the arrow keys to read content.
