Wondering if there are any JAWS users out there who can describe experiences
with e-mail marketing tools like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, etc.

We've been using Constant Contact and recently had a JAWS user describe a
problem with access with one of my e-mails. The e-mail in question used a
very simple/plain template with no images except an "add on" widget at the
top of the screen that showed some social networking buttons. Usually there
are no images used in our e-mails. The JAWS user is using the latest version
and Win7.

I am also looking for general information/guidance on what system(s) work
better and how we can ensure our e-mail campaigns are accessible to all.

I generally find that constant contact e-mails are more accessible than most of the other services. I receive several messages a week with labeled graphics from Constant Contact that have the graphics labeled.

However each of the social network buttons seem to appear twice once unlabeled immediately followed by a labeled one. I have mostly ignored this right now, but would be glad to investigate some with a sighted person if you need more feedback. Whatever you do do not use the service Baja Fresh uses. It is totally unusable by the blind.

Thanks,

Jonathan

Thanks to those who have responded thus far...

The user is using Jaws 14.0, Microsoft Office 2010 and is using Outlook as
the mail client. I am thinking that the user needs to change the settings in
Outlook to read all inbound mail in text (as opposed to HTML) form. Does
anyone have an opinion on that?

John,

Do you know how the user is accessing the message, i.e. web based mail,
Outlook, Thunderbird etc?
