Subject: Embedded You Tube Video Play and WCAG 2.0 Compliance

I've spent the morning combing the interwebs for information on the
accessibility of You Tube's video player, specifically when a video is
embedded onto a web page. Much of the information seems outdated (3+
years). If I am seeking WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance, can I simply use the
You Tube method of embedding video, or do I need to use a different player
for You Tube-hosted videos. Or, consider Vimeo, which promotes itself as
WCAG 2.0 compliant?

You might want to look at the AccessibilityOZ Player.
Besides being an interesting alternative, the documentation describes the
issues the have fixed in the embedded YouTube player.
Making no claims for accuracy, but as a semi-technical person, I found it
helpful in understanding the types of problems.

Hi,
YouTube changes it's code frequently.
Enhancing it or making it less accessible.
Either way, you have no control over it.
A more robust solution is to use a third-party player to embed you're YouTube-video with.
The native inaccessible controls are hidden and replaced by keyboard and screenreader friendly HTML controls.
