Hello all, Greetings,

While traversing in expanded combobox list, JAWS will not announce the
location of the list item like "1of 5, 2of 5, 3 of 5" so on. I think JAWS
actually dont have this behaviour announcing the location of list items by
default. But it is necessary to make the user know where he is in the list.
Is it a bug? Please share your comments on this and also need a reference
combobox exhibiting this behaviour (JAWS should announce the location of
list items while traversing in expanded dropdown) only in windows local
system apps but not in any web app if any. I am in dialema whether to
report this as bug or not.
Need clarification on this, thank you.

Thanks,
Venkatesh

Hi Venkatesh,

I never report this as a bug for a simple reason because  once user moves into any combo box his first priority will be to find out the desired option there, so he will be less bother about the number of options.

Another reason is once user expands any combo box, JAWS actually reads the currently focusable option along with the total number of options for the first time so that user can understand the total count there.
