Hi Everyone,
aria-describeat can be a very useful contribution to ARIA family as it is
meant to be the replacement for longdesc in HTML 5. But it is quite some
time now and no User Agent is supporting (plz let me know if there is any)
this attribute. Please share if anyone has any idea about when we can start
using this without worrying about compatibility.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Patrik, aria-describedat was made obsolete by aria-details before ARIA 1.1 became a recommendation
Aria-details does have some support limitations that I have documented.

To the best of my knowledge described by is used as the "Help" information in Safari browsers with VoiceOver running, and NVDA / JAWS will read it in all browsers after the name type state information.
In verbose mode on JAWS, there is also a help tag that says hit some key sequence to hear a description. I have not always encountered this help text but I have on at least one occasion.
Have you encountered a situation where it did not work?
Thanks,
Jonathan Cohn

Whoops, I read the attribute wrong. I guess it is good it got obsoleted without adjustments to Speech dictionaries the two attributes sound the same at high speed rates.
Best wishes,
