Subject: Repeated Text: What Does This Fail For

Hi,
I'm unsure right now if the text is flashing, but let's assume it is not flashing for this question. Every so often, possibly five seconds, some text on a page speaks through my screen reader. I'm unsure what success criterion to use when desiring to fail it.

How about "2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide

that updates every 5 seconds (or however long) falls under the
"Auto-updating" section.
"For any auto-updating information that (1) starts automatically and (2) is
presented in parallel with other content, there is a mechanism for the user
to pause, stop, or hide it or to control the frequency of the update unless
the auto-updating is part of an activity where it is essential."

Hi Glen,
I commonly faille carousels for this, so I wasn't thinking, for whatever reason that this text falls into that category, because it seems to be the same piece of text. Thanks for your help.
