Hello!

I'm looking for recommendations for an accessible online booking platform
for scheduling donation pickups for large items.

After spending time on configuring a client's site with Check Front, we
discovered that it is not WCAG compliant. The message I received from the
"Director of Customer Success at Checkfront stated "To confirm, Checkfront
is not WCAG or ADA compliant. We do not market ourselves as ADA compliant
in any way, as we are not required to be ADA compliant." Sadly, it turns
out that one of my colleagues recommended Check Front since it has all of
the features our client needs and, as she said, "I never would've imagined
there was a tool that not only isn't compliant, but doesn't plan to be or
think they need to be." Chalk one up for rude awakenings.

My recommendation is that we should eat the time spent so far and recommend
another platform. But, I'd like to be able to provide one or more
alternatives to consider, so any help would be appreciated.

I've spent a bit of time looking with only one so far, ScheduleOnce, making
mention of accessibility on their site.
https://www.oncehub.com/scheduleonce/feature/accessibility

I've sent a number of chats and messages, with these responses:
"We are HIPAA compliant and have a SSAE16 SOC 2 Type 2 compliant rating as
well! WCAG will likely fit into that."
"Sorry - I guess the answer is no as I dont know what this is !"

Abby

PS - If anyone has time to get into the weeds on this, I'm not deeply
involved in this project, but I do know that this client is a charity that
would like to offer online booking to pick up donated items, and zip code
lookup is a requirement since pickups are scheduled based on zip code.
Also, they want to be able to accept payments, they want people to be able
to indicate the quantities of the items they are donating.

I just went to the link you provided to schedulonce's accessibility page
and ran an automated accessibility testing tool. Ironically, I got 10
errors. Add to that that a page can be completely inaccessible and still
pass the automated tests, and I don't have much hope for scheduleonce.

I'd have to have access to at least the demo site to tell for sure, and I
don't feel like signing up for anything to see one.

One simple test is to go to one of the demo pages and start pressing tab.
All actionable elements (buttons, links, form elements, etc) should receive
focus, in as close to visual left to right, top to bottom order as
possible, and you should see a visible focus indicator (typically some kind
of outline) as each receives focus. Ideally, no non-actionable elements
should receive focus, since part of the semantics of focusable is that the
element is actionable. That's just one test, but it's one that a lot of
inaccessible sites fail.
